OX PowerDNS Products
OX PowerDNS Recursor
The OX PowerDNS Recursor platform is a high-end, high-performance resolving name server, which powers the DNS resolution of at least a hundred million subscribers.
DNS answers can be fully scripted using a variety of (scripting) languages like for example Lua, Java, Perl, Python, Ruby, C and C++. Such scripting can be used for dynamic redirection, (spam)filtering or real time intervention.
Utilizing multiple processors and supporting those powerful scripting abilities, the Recursor delivers top performance while retaining the flexibility modern DNS deployments require.
The platform comes with the DNSDist loadbalancer. The DNSdist loadbalancer is a highly DNS-, DoS- and abuse-aware loadbalancer. Its goal is to route traffic to the best available DNS recursor, delivering top performance to legitimate users while shunting or blocking abusive traffic. It is fully scriptable in the Lua language. DNSdist allows for a OX PowerDNS platform architecture that is highly redundant.
OX Protect
The OX Protect solution is an end user-centric offering to protect subscribers against malware and provide parental controls for a family-safe internet experience. It consists of a network based protection service that offers family-friendly internet, combining parental control tools and protection against malware and phishing. It can be deployed by Internet Service Providers and offered toward their subscribers. OX Protect protects subscriber’s connected devices in the home network in one go, including smartphones, laptops and computers, as well as ‘Internet of Things’ devices. Protect comes with easy to use Android and iOS apps as well as a web interface for end users that allow change of settings, to be informed about security-related events, and to check the status of all devices in the home network including IoT devices. It comes with an API to allow integration in (for example) existing web portals or mobile applications.
It protects traditional digital equipment as well as IoT devices against malware, phishing and other harmful online content. At the same time, it gives users easy to configure, flexible control over which sites each family member can visit and allows users to restrict access to certain content at different times, like off-time or bedtime.

Authoritative Server
The OX PowerDNS Authoritative Server is the only DNS Authoritative solution that enables authoritative DNS service from all major databases, including but not limited to MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQLite3.
DNS answers can also be fully scripted using a variety of (scripting) languages like for example Lua, Java, Perl, Python, Ruby, C and C++. Such scripting can be used for dynamic redirection or real time intervention.
OX PowerDNS Authoritative Server is the leading DNSSEC implementation, hosting the majority of all DNSSEC domains worldwide. It also comes with ZoneControl, our graphical interface for managing many domains.
DNSdist
OX DNSdist is a unique DNS proxy and load balancer that brings out the best possible performance in any DNS deployment. It optimizes DNS traffic in front of the OX PowerDNS Recursor. Both are normally deployed together to provide an unrivalled feature set for DNS service. DNSdist also delivers low latency DNS responses with any legacy DNS servers on the network. Provide your subscribers with optimized delivery while adding an additional layer of security through DNS encryption and protection against DDoS and abusive traffic. In addition, DNSdist provides DNS-over-TLS and DNS-over-HTTPS, allowing Service providers to offer encrypted DNS services next to the regular ' port 53' DNS service.
