Information and Installing of OXtender for Mac OS X

OXtender for Mac OS X is beta version for testing, use at your own risk.

Concept

TheOXtender for Mac OS X synchronize the Open-Xchange Server 6 with your Mac OS X computer. Data of the following modules will be synchronized: - Calendar - Contacts - Task - InfoStore

Note: The new OXtender for Mac OS X is at the moment Beta. If you want to test it, please safe your data first.

Components

Calendar, Contacts and Tasks: Objects will be regular synchronized via SyncServices. The following folder will be synchronized - Contacts: Private Address book and the Public Address book - Task: Private Tasks - Calendar: Private Calendar


Installation


  • Please click on the downloaded .msi package to install the new UP2OX tool. You will see the first screen:

  • Please click on “Next”
  • Please read carefully and accept the displayed license agreement

  • The installation starts
  • Please start the new tool under “Start” -> “Programs” -> “Open-Xchange” -> “up2OX” -> up2OX.exe
  • Now you will see the tray icon for the UP2OX in your system tray icon bar.

  • To configure your new tool, you have to right-click on the displayed tray icon. Choose “Preferences” and enter your OX Url, username, and password
  • You can create bookmarks for InfoStore items. Right-click the tray icon and choose “Bookmarks” -> New Bookmark. The newly created bookmark will then be listed in the RMB menu. When clicking on the entry the InfoStore item will directly be opened in the respective application.
  • With the “Autoclose” function, the notification pop-up will be closed automatically. If this function is not activated you have to close the pop-ups manually.
  • With the function “Force Update” you can once again get the newest items.

General Functions

  • New E-Mail notification. When clicking on the title of the new object, the user gets directed to the detail view of the object.
  • New appointment notification. When clicking on the title of the new object, the user gets directed to the detail view of the object.
  • New InfoStore item notification. When clicking on the title of the new object it will be opened in the office program. The user can edit the object and save the version.
