With this new functionality, it is possible to synchronize of all private, public and shared calendars to the personal Thunderbird/Lightning client. In contrast to some other clients, Thunderbird/Lightning is not able to discover all the available calendar collections automatically. Instead, each calendar folder needs to be added separately in the client. To do so, one needs to know the CalDAV URLs of the calendar folder that should be synchronized with the client. This URL is displayed in the properties-page in the Groupware web-interface for each folder.
This article describes how the Open-Xchange server can be accessed via its CalDAV interface using the Mozilla Thunderbird client with the Lightning Add-on:

OXtender for SyncML

The Open-Xchange OXtender for SyncML extends the power of Smart Collaboration™ to users of hundreds of types of mobile devices offered by major device manufacturers. SyncML enabled devices can update user personal contact information wirelessly. The OXtender for SyncML is a server-side plugin based on the Open-Xchange USM synchronization framework. Synchronizing contacts from the personal contact folder is supported.

OXtender for cPanel

Integration of Open-Xchange with cPanel makes deployment and billing of Open-Xchange simple for service providers. Web hosters can offer Open-Xchange to their shared-hosting customers as well as to users of Virtual Private Servers - just by installing a software package together with cPanel.

When you choose to install packages for one of the maintained platforms as listed below, you can later buy maintenance and a support contract without migrating any data.

Products like OXtender for MS Outlook and OXtender for Mac OS can only be purchased and supported in combination with a maintenance contract and thus only with products like HE, SE, SE for UCS or ASE.

Please Note: All updates, including operating system update, will be supplied by Open-Xchange directly to the server itself via the web based built-in updater. This service will be provided to all maintenance paying customers. If there are any configuration changes which don't fit the Univention Configuration Registry (UCR) Scheme Support can't be guaranteed.
