OX PowerDNS Recursor Platform
The OX PowerDNS Recursor platform is a high-end, high-performance resolving name server, which powers the DNS resolution of at least a hundred million subscribers.
DNS answers can be fully scripted using a variety of (scripting) languages like for example Lua, Java, Perl, Python, Ruby, C and C++. Such scripting can be used for dynamic redirection, (spam)filtering or real time intervention.
Utilizing multiple processors and supporting those powerful scripting abilities, the Recursor delivers top performance while retaining the flexibility modern DNS deployments require.
The platform comes with the DNSDist loadbalancer. The DNSdist loadbalancer is a highly DNS-, DoS- and abuse-aware loadbalancer. Its goal is to route traffic to the best available DNS recursor, delivering top performance to legitimate users while shunting or blocking abusive traffic. It is fully scriptable in the Lua language. DNSdist allows for a OX PowerDNS platform architecture that is highly redundant.
Recursor Platform Module: Parental Control (module)
The Content filtering and parental control module offers unique Multi-Level Control for Safe Browsing per user. It has an easy to use Web Control Panel.
It supports many categories, time-windows, white lists and black lists. With CPE assistance it allows per-device parental control.
Recursor Platform Module: Malware detection and Filtering (module)
OX PowerDNS Malware detection and filtering module allows filtering of DNS based on threat lists. It provides a platform for detecting and preventing subscriber infection.
Authoritative Server
The OX PowerDNS Authoritative Server is the only DNS Authoritative solution that enables authoritative DNS service from all major databases, including but not limited to MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite3, Oracle and plain text files.
